The September Issues: Part Two- The American Magazines

The September issues are always the most anticipated issues of the year.  These issues set the tone for the Fall/Winter season.  I did a previous post on the September issues of British Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar.  Now, I am taking on the American versions.  The American versions always get here a little later than the British ones, and now that I've got them (finally), it's time to take them on.  They also couldn't come at a better time.  Fashion Week in New York and London Fashion Week just took the world by storm and now, Fashion Week in Milan, Italy is about to shake things up.  Let's dive on in!!!!

The first issue I'm tackling is Harper's Bazaar.  I've always had a fondness for this magazine, because they bring on the fantasy that Vogue does so well with the reality that Elle does so well.  You get to see the best of both worlds, every time.

This Fall, they are pulling out all of the stops by popping color into everything.  Chic, wearable pieces that are full of color is the happening trend of the moment.  Bold blue, edgy red, and pink are perfect for the season.  Even the tried and true naturals got some edge to them.  Punk inspired pieces are also all the rage this season!!!

Bold, cobalt blue pieces

Minimalist Black & White pieces with a touch of edgy jewelry

Be jolly and green in these accessories!!!

The next issue that I am tackling is Elle.  Love this magazine because of it's "real women on the street" feeling.  It's so fun and  very inspiring of the women of today.  Black, embroidered or studded is the hit trend in this issue, along with surrealist prints, nautical navys, polka dots and Victorian style botanical prints with a goth twist.  Don't forget denim, denim, and more denim all done in a high fashion style.

Denim as you've never seen it before!!!!

The next issue is the mother of all magazines and always with the best September Issues EVER is Vogue. This issue is all about the fantasy of haute couture, the coat for winter, and the Irish countryside that is full of wools and menswear plaids.  The Irish countryside editorial was taken by one of my FAVORITE photographers, Annie Leibovitz and features one of my favorite fashion models, Daria Werbowy.  The coat editorial was done by Steven Klein, another one of my favorite photographers.  The look is totally futuristic/minimalist/Blade Runner/post apocolyptic.  LOVE IT!!!!! The couture editorial is all big expressive pieces with a touch of edge to them.  This is what Vogue magazine is all about!!! The fantasy of fashion!!! Love all of the pieces!!!!

Well, these are the things that moved me in this year's editions of the September Issues.  I'm sorry it took a while to get this done, but it takes a while to get the American issues here to Berlin and I also had a little computer trouble, which (I hope) now is fixed.  If you get the chance to get the September Issues of these magazines, get them and take yourself on a journey, a journey into the world of fashion.  Let me know what you think!!!!

Stay fashionable and sexy!!!!!
